This 1965 Chevrolet Corvette convertible is finished in Milano Maroon with a black convertible top, and it is powered by a numbers-matching 327ci L76 V8 paired with a Muncie M21 close-ratio four-speed manual transmission. Equipment includes a Positraction rear end, four-wheel disc brakes, an off-road exhaust system, and a Delco AM/FM radio. The car was first sold by Byrne Brothers Inc. in White Plains, New York, and was acquired by the current owner in 2000. Subsequent work is said to have included a repaint as well as fluid and filter replacements. The car received regional Top Flight awards from the National Corvette Restorers Society (NCRS) in 2010 and 2015, and additional materials accompanying the sale include scoring sheets, CCAS certificates, 1965 sales paperwork, a Protect-O-Plate, and factory literature. This C2 is now offered by the seller on behalf of its current owner with a removable hardtop and stand, brand literature including a September 2000 copy of Corvette Fever featuring the car, and a clean New York title.
According to the seller, the fiberglass body was repainted in Milano Maroon (M-M) acrylic lacquer under prior ownership. Details include split bumpers, hidden headlights, fender vents, and cast rocker-panel accents. The replacement black soft top is shown fitted above, and a body-colored hardtop, storage stand, and cover are included in the sale as shown in the gallery below.
Close-up photos of the paintwork, badging, taillights, glass, and other trim are also included in the gallery. Steel 15″ wheels wear polished faux-knockoff covers and Goodyear gold-stripe tires, and additional equipment includes four-wheel disc brakes and an optional N11 “off-road” exhaust system.
The interior features black upholstery with a matching dashboard, console, and carpeting. Equipment includes a vertically mounted Delco AM/FM radio, manually operated windows, and lap belts. A delivery-style instruction tag is fitted above the AM/FM radio.
Factory instrumentation consists of a 160-mph speedometer, a tachometer, supplementary gauges, and a five-digit odometer that shows approximately 66k miles.
The 327ci L76 V8 was rated at 365 horsepower from the factory, and power is sent to the rear wheels through a Muncie M21 close-ratio four-speed manual transmission and a Positraction rear end equipped with 3.70:1 gearing.
